Steelers post-combine mock draft: Pittsburgh gets back to their roots

Steelers mock draft round 3: WR Jayden Reed
I know there's a large portion of the Steelers fanbase that want WR Jordan Addison to reunite with Kenny Pickett in Pittsburgh. Despite Addison putting up somewhat disappointing numbers at the NFL Combine and coming in smaller and lighter than expected, he still is very unlikely to make it back to Pittsburgh's selection to open the second round.
If Pittsburgh does miss out on a player like Addison early, they could opt for a player like Jayden Reed in the third round with their fourth selection of 2023. Reed mirrors Addison in many ways, but is the Great Value Brand version of that player, for lack of a better analogy.
At 5'11'' and 187 pounds, Reed has a thicker build than Addison, but posted remarkably similar athletic testing numbers at the Combine. Reed is a savvy player who can get open and has a well-rounded skill set.
Though I'm somewhat in favor of not selecting a wide receiver in a relatively poor WR class this year, Reed could prove to be a capable WR3 for the Steelers a year or two from now. Pittsburgh needs depth at the position and Reed would at least give them some Diontae Johnson insurance.
