5. Steelers could target Bobby Okereke in free agency

Bobby Okereke has put up some mind-boggling stats since he was drafted by the Colts a handful of years back. In the past two seasons, there has not been many more that have outproduced this linebacker. The Steelers could have a lot of interest in Okereke with the kind of numbers he has been putting up.

The projection for Okereke this upcoming free agency cycle is a little higher than some on this list, but it would be worth it. He proved this past season that he can be a defense's top dog in the middle with his teammate Shaquille Leonard being out with an injury. That allowed for Okereke to thrive and show clubs that he can be a number one guy for their defense next year.

6. Steelers could target Leighton Vander Esch in free agency

Here is one that makes a lot of sense as Leighton Vander Esch was high on the Steelers' radar when he was coming out of college. The draft did not see Vander Esch slip to Pittsburgh's selection, but the pre-draft interest in this linebacker was real. Perhaps the second time around will be the charm for these two as the Steelers need a linebacker to come in with starting experience.

Vander Esch has seen an up-and-down career to this point, but last season was one of his most successful. There are things in his game that leave a lot to be desired, but overall he could be a solid second starting option next to a rookie. He has been able to produce well as a run filler, but he could bring more in his coverage ability.
