The Pittsburgh Steelers will have their work cut out for them in 2024. After playing three of their first four games on the road, Pittsburgh will also face a brutal stretch from Week 11 until the end of the season. Before any of this takes place, fans will get the chance to see what their team looks like during the 2024 preseason.

We can't read too deeply into preseason performances. Last year, Kenny Pickett had a perfect passer rating in exhibition action, but it clearly did not translate onto the NFL stage in the regular season. Still, this is a great time to get a feel for young players and draft picks.

Fans are excited to see Pittsburgh's impressive 2024 draft class take the field, and we will get our first good look at this revamped roster in August. Here is the full Steelers 2024 preseason schedule.

Steelers 2024 preseason schedule:

Preseason Week 1: Steelers vs. Texans, Aug. 9, 7:00 p.m. ET

The first preseason game for the Pittsburgh Steelers will be a rematch of their blowout loss against the Houston Texans from Week 4 of the 2023 season. The last time these teams met, Mike Tomlin's squad was embarrassed in a 30-6 loss in Houston. This time, the Steelers get the Texans at home for their preseason opener.

Because this is the first preseason game, we can't expect the starters to play many snaps. This means that we could be seeing a lot of work from the 2024 draft class and other players looking to prove themselves for the first time. This AFC matchup will take place on August 9th at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time and can be viewed locally on KDKA TV.

Preseason Week 2: Steelers vs. Bills, Aug. 17, 7:00 p.m. ET

The last football game the Steelers played came against the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card round of the AFC playoffs. This didn't end well for Pittsburgh, as Buffalo eventually ran away with the victory. This time around, the Steelers could get their revenge (albeit in exhibition action).

Thanks to the NFL's 17-game schedule, most teams will play just three preseason games. This means that the Steelers could play their starters the longest in Week 2 of the preseason as they look to rest their best players in the preseason finale. The Steelers will host their second straight preseason game in 2024 against the Bills on August 17th at 7:00 p.m. ET, and local fans can watch on KDKA TV.

Preseason Week 3: Steelers @ Lions, TBD

For their 2024 preseason finale, the Pittsburgh Steelers will be in Detroit to face the Lions. The Lions made a deep playoff push in the NFC last year, and are expected to be Super Bowl contenders once again.

Neither team will have much to play for in this contest as they look to sneak by Week 3 of exhibition action without any major injuries. However, there will be dozens of players fighting for a chance to stick around on the 53-man roster. The date and time for this game have not yet been announced.
