Steelers Rumors: Justin Fields' viral video may hint at a trade coming soon

Before the 2023 season was officially over, Justin Fields was expected to be the most intriguing trade piece around the NFL during the 2024 offseason. The Chicago Bears hold the number one pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and everyone expects them to turn the page at quarterback and get a fresh start with outstanding USC prospect Caleb Williams.

All the while, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been deemed one of the most likely suitors for Fields' services. Other quarterback-needy teams are picking high in the draft and will likely take their QB in April. Meanwhile, it doesn't make sense for Fields to go to a team like the Raiders only to be reunited with Las Vegas' new OC Luke Getsy.

Because of this, the Steelers emerged as the odds-on favorites to trade for Fields during the 2024 offseason. Now fans and the NFL media are speculating if something is already in the works.

Recently, Justin Fields' manager posted an Instagram video that quickly went viral. The video shows Fields jumping and celebrating -- presumably after hearing some news regarding where he will be playing in 2024.

As of now, there has been no word that the Chicago Bears have traded their former first-round pick, but that decision is expected to be made soon. Did Fields just reveal a trade with his ecstatic reaction? If so, could he be headed to the Pittsburgh Steelers?

Let's pump the brakes, Steelers fans

I want to believe that this is the case. Whether or not you think Justin Fields is the answer, it's clear that the Steelers have to make a move to improve the position, and Fields at least comes with exceptional traits at the QB position. However, we might be reading too deeply into this rumor.

Fields' reaction could have been over just about anything. Even if his burst of energy was the result of hearing about a trade, that doesn't mean that he's headed to Pittsburgh. At the end of the video, it does sound like Fields said, "Are you ready to go home?"

For those of you who don't know, Fields is originally from Atlanta, meaning that being traded to the Falcons could be what has him so excited. This would make sense. Other than the Steelers, the Falcons were the only team that seemed like a great fit for Justin Fields, and the former first-round pick has been connected to Atlanta since before the trade deadline during the 2023 season.

Of course, if Fields' reaction wasn't the result of hearing news about where he is being traded, why did his manager post this on Instagram? Is he just trolling us?

Right now, we don't have any of the answers, but I would expect the Chicago Bears to make a decision about a trade soon. Maybe Justin Fields will be traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but don't get your hopes up just yet.
