Week 9: Steelers vs Titans @ Acrisure Stadium

The first of the two Thursday night games for the Steelers will take place at home in Week 9 of the 2023 season. Pittsburgh will be just two weeks removed from their bye week at that time, having traveled to Los Angeles to take on the Rams in Week 7, and then returning to Acrisure Stadium the following week to host the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first of three consecutive home games.

Tennessee could be in the midst of a quarterback change by the time Week 9 rolls around, having drafted Ryan Tannehill's likely replacement in Will Levis. Whether it's Tannehill or Levis under center for the Titans, both situations bode well for the Steelers defense. The Titans struggled heavily on offense in 2022, and given the improvements made on defense for the Steelers, Week 9 shouldn't be much different for Tennessee.

Pittsburgh's last matchup with the Titans ended in a 19-13 win for the Steelers in an ugly turnover-filled performance by Tennessee's offense. Much has changed for both teams since their last faceoff, as the Steelers will be led by Kenny Pickett rather than Ben Roethlisberger. The Titans may very well be trotting out a new quarterback of their own should they choose to pull the plug on the Ryan Tannehill era.

Pittsburgh will have ten days to recover from their first Thursday night outing before hosting the Green Bay Packers in Week 10. The Steelers won't face their next Thursday night challenge until Week 14.
