Social media teams just dropped their full schedules for the 2024 NFL season, and there were some big winners. The Pittsburgh Steelers delivered once again.
Last year, the Steelers' social media team released an old-timey video, starring former Steelers TE Zach Gentry, to showcase their 2023 schedule in a creative way. This time around, James Harrison was the star of the show.
Current Pittsburgh Steelers tried to get Harrison to crack a smile with corny dad jokes, but 'Deebo' would not be phased. Here's the full schedule release video from the official Pittsburgh Steelers account on 'X'.
Harrison, a former Defensive Player of the Year and Super Bowl champion was the star of the 3-minute clip. However, the video featured numerous current Steelers players.
Russell Wilson appeared at the beginning and end of the video, while players like Miles Killebrew, DeShon Elliott, Connor Heyward, Montravius Adams, Elandon Roberts, Nick Herbig, Calvin Austin III, Jaylen Warren, Pat Freiermuth, and Van Jefferson made appearances.
Interestingly, the Steelers also used featured players like TE Rodney Williams and DT Breiden Fehoko in the video. Both players fell short of making the 53-man roster in 2023, but are ready to give it another go in 2024.
At the end of the video, the Pittsburgh Steelers dropped their full schedule in a graphic. You can check out the Steelers' 2024 schedule in detail here.
James Harrison appeared one more time in the 'after credits' scene to drop a dad joke of his own... and he delivered the punchline in a way that only 'Deebo' could.
Steelers hit the mark with 2024 schedule release video
Personally, I'm a big fan of the theatrics that teams like the Los Angeles Chargers and Tennesse Titans have had going on during the NFL schedule release over the past two seasons, but the Pittsburgh Steelers schedule release video is comedy gold, and Harrison's hilariously intense personality steals the show.
This was a step up from what we witnessed from the Steelers' social team in 2023. Interestingly, there were plenty of high-profile players who did not make an appearance. Some notable names absent from the schedule release video included T.J. Watt, Cameron Heyward, Minkah Fitzpatrick, and Geoge Pickens.
There's nothing to read into this other than the Steelers' social team made sure that starters, backups, and those not guaranteed to make the final roster were well represented. There will be better NFL schedule release videos out there, but I enjoyed this one.
