Mike Munchak could make a return to the Steelers with a couple new titles

It's been a while since anyone has heard much from Mike Munchak when it comes to the news outlets that cover the NFL. He seems to be enjoying his time off with family, but coaching could come calling again. There is a familiarity that both Munchak and the Steelers have from his previous coaching stint with the team.

Rejoining the black and gold as an offensive assistant and another role of Assistant Head Coach could be interesting to him. It would be a step up in pay from his offensive line coaching days, and he could come back to Pittsburgh. That could have a bigger importance to him with his family being near the surrounding area. Those family ties could go a long way and were one of the reasons that he joined the organization in the first place.

Bringing Munchak back will not be easy as he seems content with his current living situation. Coaches have a unique lifestyle and it would not be surprising if his coaching itch comes back, and he re-joins the NFL at some capacity over the next couple of years. The Steelers should put in a call as this veteran coach could provide a lot of quality knowledge to this group, especially the offensive line.
