Well, the 2023 NFL trade deadline has come and gone and our beloved Steelers did absolutely nothing. Let's think about that for a minute, A team that is frankly struggling with consistency and struggling statistically in several key areas did nothing to improve either side of the ball.

Make no mistake, improvements needed to be made. If we think we can roll with who we currently have and contend for the AFC North crown and the Vince Lombardi trophy, I would argue that we are looking at this team through 'rose-colored glasses'.

Let's see how we waived the white flag on the offensive side of the ball.

Steelers conceded defeat on offense

According to ESPN, through seven games of the 2023 season, we are ranked thirtieth in total offense, twenty-fifth in average passing yards per game, twenty-seventh in average rushing yards per game, and twenty-ninth in average points per game.

I honestly can't remember the last time the Steelers offense was this bad, at least statistically speaking. Forget statistics for a minute, what do your eyes see? My eyes see an offense that has yet to find its footing after seven games of the season.

So when will the offense find some consistency? No one knows that's the problem. Matt Canada sure as heck doesn't know because to me it looks like we're calling the same old plays over and over and expecting different results.

I realize that execution may be lacking but consistent execution requires having players who possess the ability to consistently execute. Are you telling me that we could not have swung a trade for a better wide receiver and better offensive lineman? Did we even inquire about the possibility?

Let's see how we waived the white flag on the defensive side of the ball.
