Every week through theΒ Pittsburgh SteelersΒ 2023 campaign, I'll diagnose the good, the bad, and the ugly regardless of the outcome of each contest. It's always wise to take note of what went particularly well but take an extra step to see what can be improved upon. What's working, what can work a bit better, and what appears to be completely broken?
Granted, it's the preseason and the reps are given in large chunks to players that will not be a part of the Steelers Sunday efforts, there are plenty of notes to take in the second week of the preseason.
The Steelers hosted the Buffalo Bills in the lone home game of the 2023 preseason and walked away with a win after storming ahead, taking a 14-0 lead within the first five minutes of game action. THe offense was clicking early, leading to a short night for the big names on offense.
Defensively, the Steelers pass rush was effective early and the secondary was prepared to take advantage on the backend in turn. The Steelers defense finished the game with four takeaways, all of which resulted in points on the other side.
While the turnovers were probably the story of the game, there was another aspect of Pittsburgh's performance that is worth praising in the "Good" section this week.
