These 5 NFL combine participants would be perfect fits for the Steelers

3) TE Darnell Washington, Georgia

This would be a luxury pick for the Steelers, with young tight ends like Pat Freiermuth and Connor Heyward already on the roster. But if reserve Zach Gentry departs in free agency (and maybe even if he doesn't), Darnell Washington could be in play with one of the Steelers' second-round picks, if he's still available.

Washington (6-7, 264) is truly a mountain of a man with great athleticism and strength. At the combine, he ran a 4.64 40-yard dash with a 1.57 10-yard split and posted a 4.08 in the 20-yard shuttle. He also threw up 21 reps on the bench press (225 pounds).

Can you imagine the Steelers lining up in a two-tight end set and using Washington as a run-blocking aid to one of their tackles? He's like having an additional offensive tackle on the roster, and we all know the Steelers' tackles could use some help from time to time. Washington is a beast and reminds me of Eric Green.
