All eyes are on the Steelers' current quarterback scenario. Russell Wilson and Justin Fields might be at different points in their careers, but both want to show that they can be long-term answers as starting quarterbacks in the NFL. Whether that is in Pittsburgh or somewhere else, that is their end goal for this season.

If neither can prove to be the quarterback moving forward once the schedule is complete, this franchise will be back at square one. All three of their rostered quarterbacks are on expiring contracts, so the Steelers will have decisions to make. If none of them show much of anything then this position will be a big talking point going into the 2025 NFL Draft.

Steelers could be desperate for a quarterback in the upcoming draft

Dillion Gabriel, Oregon

Perhaps the most experienced quarterback coming out of the draft will be none other than Dillon Gabriel. He started his career in Central Florida before moving to Oklahoma and now Oregon. He has a small build to him, but that hasn't been a total hindrance at the position in the past. Gabriel might not be the prototypical size of an NFL quarterback, but he has long-standing production in college.

Drew Allar, Penn State

Someone who could shoot up draft boards is none other than Drew Allar. This is the season for him to break out as the opportunity is great. He needs to take advantage of a strong running attack at Penn State to become a smart and precise decision-maker. The Steelers could like Allar as a developmental guy coming out of the draft if he declares to leave Penn State early.

Shedeur Sanders, Colorado

The name seems to be more recognizable than the actual play of Shedeur Sanders right now. He is the son of Hall of Fame NFL player Deion Sanders. Despite him getting starting jobs thrown his way, he has produced some quality numbers. Sanders has a big season this year that could either catapult or disintegrate his draft stock. The Steelers love NFL bloodlines and Sanders fits that mold.

Jalen Milroe, Alabama

Jalen Milroe. 3. player. . Jalen Milroe. Milroe. . . Quarterback. 523

Jalen Milroe will only be 22 years old if he decides to enter the 2025 NFL Draft. He is playing under a new Head coach now that Nick Saban retired. How he adjusts to that new environment could speak volumes on his acumen. Milroe has not produced eye-popping numbers, but this will be a big year for him to shove his draft stock into the spotlight.

Quinn Ewers, Texas

. Quinn Ewers. 467. 2. player. . Quarterback. Quinn Ewers. Ewers.

Not many quarterbacks will blend the size, talent, youth, and experience that Quinn Ewers will bring with him as an NFL prospect. The Steelers could like what they see from the former top high school prospect. He is entering his third year as the starter for Texas after transferring from Ohio State. If he can build off of last season's performance, then he has first-round pick written all over him.

Carson Beck, Georgia

. 1. 527. Carson Beck. . Carson Beck. player. Beck. . Quarterback

He is coming off a big first year as the starter of the powerhouse Georgia Bulldogs. If Carson Beck can keep around the same level of passing yards or increase it, then he will be in the Heisman conversation. The biggest question mark will be if Beck can become a standout starter at Georgia with all the talent around him. If he can push up his touchdown numbers this season, then he will be the top quarterback taken in the upcoming draft.
