Running in high gear

Najee Harris, while not having a huge day, did manage to find the endzone and scored his first rushing touchdown since the final game of the 2022 season against Cleveland on 1/3/2023. Not to be outdone, Jaylen Warren managed to punch a rush into the endzone. Even Kenny Pickett got in on the act. This was the first game against the Rams in which the Steelers had three plus rushing touchdowns since December 24, 2011. And their first in any game since the game against the Carolina Panthers on December 12, 2022.

The rushing performance of the Steelers also led to another unusual stat. This is the first time in team history the Steelers had three rushing touchdowns coming off a bye week. Interestingly enough, the Steelers have had three games in series history with the Rams in which they scored three rushing touchdowns in one game. Two of those three were home games with the Rams when they played in St. Louis. Since Sunday’s game was on the road, it was the first game against the Rams since 1955, in which the Steelers scored three touchdowns against the Rams in Los Angeles.

Crazier yet, this was the Steelers 15th game in team history against an NFC opponent in which the Steelers have had at least three rushing touchdowns. The Steelers are an impressive 15-0 against NFC teams when they have at least three rushing touchdowns.
