The Pittsburgh Steelers have already gotten the opportunity to wear their classic home uniforms this season ahead of the home opener today against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Chargers come to Pittsburgh as one of the NFL's best-looking teams with a flashy uniform befitting of the Los Angeles franchise.

The Chargers have several combinations to choose from, but with the current template, it's hard for LA to roll out a look that won't match up well against the Steelers' standard uniforms.

Official Jersey Announcements For Today's Game

The Chargers announced on Friday they will be wearing an all-white uniform for the Week 3 contest.

The Steelers didn't make a formal uniform announcement this week, but with kickoff at 1 pm and it being the home opener, the Steelers are going to take the field with their black jerseys and gold pants.

Thankfully, the Chargers didn't opt for their own gold pants, which is typically the only other option for their road look. That would have clashed with the Steelers' gold pants harshly. It's no surprise that Los Angeles knows how to make sure the game looks good.

Since changing to the modern uniform look they have now, the Chargers are 8-9 in their all-white combination. That record is on track with how the Chargers play in all-white in any uniform era. The Chargers are 70-78-2 all-time when wearing all-white uniforms.

While the uniform matchup won't have much to do with the actual outcome of the game, the Steelers do continue to have a slight advantage from a historical perspective. Pittsburgh is 27-13-1 at home over the past five seasons.

Still, the Steelers lost their only home game against the Chargers since they moved to Los Angeles. Pittsburgh lost that game 33-30 in 2018.
