Round 1 of the 2023 NFL Draft came with every bit of the excitement that was advertised. There were some bizarre picks early that altered the outcome. Ultimately, the Pittsburgh Steelers were able to trade up three spots from pick 17 to pick 14 to land OT Broderick Jones. Now fans can't wait to see what's in store for Round 2.

Don't for a second think that the excitement is going to be dying down just yet. Day 2 of the draft includes multiple picks for most teams. These selections come early enough to make a huge difference to a football team and there are still a plethora of great football players ready to be drafted.

The rush of Day 1 may have left you exhausted, but don't tap out now. Here's everything you need to know about Day 2 of the 2023 NFL Draft and the start of the second round.

What time does Round 2 start of the NFL Draft?

After Day 1 of the NFL Draft kicked off at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Day 2 starts a bit earlier. On Friday, April 28th, the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft will resume at 7:00 p.m. with coverage leading up to the Pittsburgh Steelers being on the clock. Day 2 will showcase both the second and third rounds of the NFL Draft which spans from pick 32 to pick 102.

What picks do the Pittsburgh Steelers have on Day 2?

Unfortunately, trading up for Broderick Jones did cost the Pittsburgh Steelers their original fourth-round pick. Still, this was better than the alternative trade scenario of trading up to pick 9 overall and surrendering the 49th pick in the draft to Chicago.

The trade certainly leaves Pittsburgh razor-thin in terms of Day 3 selections with just a pair of late seventh-round picks (pick 241 and pick 251). However, they are set up for an excellent Day 2. Here are the picks they own today:

  • Round 2 (pick 32 overall)
  • Round 2 (pick 49 overall)
  • Round 3 (pick 80 overall)

The Steelers could get a quality haul from this, but I fully expect Omar Khan to look to trade back in an effort to recoup some mid-to-late-round draft capital. No matter what happens, we should be in for an exciting Day 2 of the 2023 NFL Draft.
