With the way the Pittsburgh Steelers were playing in the first five games of the season, I think the players, coaches, and fans were collectively ready for the bye week. The week off couldn't have come at a better time either as several Steelers like Diontae Johnson, Pat Freiermuth, and James Daniels are now healthy and ready to return to the field.
Even with the bumpy start, Mike Tomlin's team still sits on a respectable 3-2 record. If the season had ended just before Week 7, Pittsburgh would have been the sixth seed in the AFC and playing a road playoff game in the Wild Card round against the Ravens.
Having said that, there's still plenty of season left for that to change. The hope is that this team looks much more like a true playoff contender by the end of the year rather than a contender. By this afternoon, they could either advance to a 4-2 record or fall back to .500 at 3-3.
When is the Steelers vs. Rams game today?
The Pittsburgh Steelers will play the Los Angeles Rams at 4:05 p.m. Eastern Time today. This game will take place at SoFi stadium in Inglewood LA. The Steelers already have one win out west this year. Their most impressive performance came when they visited the Raiders in Las Vegas.
Tomlin's team will be looking for similar results against a Rams team that will be tough to match up against. This will be the first of late-afternoon games the Steelers will play during the 2023 season.
What channel is the Steelers game on?
There have already been a few Steelers games this year that many fans have not been able to catch on TV. Some fans could have an issue finding the game this afternoon. The Steelers vs. Rams game will be broadcast on FOX. Most of the North East will receive the game on their local FOX station.
For those who aren't able to get the game, you can stream this Week 7 contest on Fox Sports or watch with a subscription to NFL+ or YouTube TV. We recommend using FuboTV for all of your streaming needs.
What happened the last time the Steelers vs. Rams played?
The last time these two teams faced each other was back in November of 2019. This contest came at home for the Steelers at the stadium which was then known as Heinz Field. Pittsburgh was able to squeak out a 17-12 victory.
Because the Rams are in the NFC, this is considered an uncommon opponent, and the Steelers play them just once every four years. With the added game, however, there's a chance these teams could play each other sooner in the future if their records align. The Steelers have won four straight contests and 9 of the last 12 games against this opponent.
