The NFL is looking for new avenues to expand its viewership and increase revenue. One of those routes comes by means of a new flex scheduling rule. Saturday games in the NFL are being played earlier in the season than ever before, and most football fans appreciate not having so many contests crammed into a jampacked early afternoon slate on Sundays.

On Saturday, December 16th, six teams will square off in three games over the course of the day. All three contests could prove to have playoff implications. Here are the teams that will be playing football on Saturday in Week 15.

Minnesota Vikings @ Cincinnati Bengals: 1:03 p.m. ET

During the early afternoon game on Saturday, the Minnesota Vikings will be in Cincinnati to take on the Bengals. Both teams currently have a record of 7-6 and are fighting to stay alive in the postseason race in their respective conferences.

The Vikings are currently second in the NFC North. They are neck-and-neck with their divisional rivals, the Green Bay Packers, while the Lions (9-4) are likely to come away with the NFC North title this year.

The Bengals, meanwhile, are on the cusp of earning a playoff berth, but they may need to rely on a few things going their way. Though they are also 7-6, Cincinnati is currently just the 10th seed in the AFC, via NFL.com. Rival opponents ahead of them like the Steelers, Colts, Texans, and Broncos each have a 7-6 record entering Week 15.

This game will feature a battle of backup quarterbacks. Jake Browning has been impressive at times with Joe Burrow sidelined. The Vikings are turning to Nick Mullens at the helm after recently benching Josh Dobbs (who had an impressive first two games in Minnesota before struggling).

This will be the early afternoon game on December 16th. You can catch the national broadcast of the game on NFL Network. Fans living locally can watch this contest on their CBS station.
