Monday Night Football is a tradition that dates back to the NFL merger in 1970 when the Jets and Browns squared off in the first-ever Monday night game. Since then, the football fanbase has grown by the millions, and it's one of America's favorite pastimes.

It's especially thrilling when your favorite team is playing in primetime. After a crowded slate of games on Sunday to flip through, fans can build up anticipation when their team takes the field to mark the final game of the football calendar week on Monday Night Football.

Recently, the NFL has added double-headers on Monday night -- ensuring that there's no shortage of football to tune into. So which teams are squaring off tonight under the lights to wrap up a thrilling Week 2 of the 2023 NFL season?

Who is playing Monday Night Football?

There are actually two NFL games being played tonight on Monday Night Football. The first game that will take place is the Saints vs. Panthers. Carolina will host New Orleans at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. Kickoff of this game is set for 7:15 p.m. Eastern Time.

The Saints are looking to advance to 2-0 on the season after narrowly squeaking their way past the Titans last week in a 16-15 win. Meanwhile, first-overall pick Bryce Young and the Panthers are coming off a 14-point loss to the Falcons in Week 1 and are looking to bounce back.

The second Monday Night Football game that will be going on will be a more anticipated matchup for most: the Pittsburgh Steelers versus the Cleveland Browns. The Steelers were humiliated by the 49ers on their own turf in Week 1, while the Browns are coming off an impressive blowout win over the defending AFC North champions, the Cincinnati Bengals.

Kickoff of the Steelers vs. Browns game is set for 8:15 p.m. ET at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh. The Steelers have started the season 0-2 just twice in Mike Tomlin's 16-year tenure as head coach. Both times, they failed to make the playoffs. Tomlin will do everything in his power to take care of business in primetime this week.

With two games going on almost simultaneously, there will be plenty of football for the viewing pleasure of fans tonight. The Saints vs. Panthers game will be broadcast on ESPN and ESPN Deportes, while the Steelers vs. Browns game can be watched on ABC (check your listings). Those intending to stream these Monday Night Football games can do so with a subscription to NFL+ or YouTube TV, but we recommend using FuboTV.
