Things are a little weird in Pittsburgh right now. The quarterback controversy couldn't be a hotter topic in the city. Some fans want Justin Fields to continue to start while others want to see if Russell Wilson can get the offense stabilized. The Steelers just broke past the 30-point mark for the first time in a long time, but that wasn't because the offense was rolling on all cylinders against the Raiders.

Fields was decent these past few weeks, but his legs remain his strongest trait. His passing game has started to squabble, so it seems like Mike Tomlin could potentially play both Fields and Wilson to varying degrees in the short term. That is a questionable plan as both quarterbacks could be thrown out of rhythm because of that act. They are winning, but can they sustain their current ways?

One thing is for sure no matter how the offense goes, they will rely on the defense to win them football games. They have struggled against veteran quarterbacks in the early goings of the season, and they have a huge test in Week 7.

Aaron Rodgers and the high-flying Jets come to Pittsburgh to try and right their season. Even though New York has had a poor start, they will prove to be a major test.

Pittsburgh vs New York Week 7 prediction: Steelers 21, Jets 29

New York enters this game with a ton of firepower on offense. They just fired their Head coach, but they just landed Davante Adams, who was the biggest trade option at receiver. We will see if Adams can play for the Jets this weekend, but all signs seem to be pointing towards that. There are plenty of quality options for Rodgers to attack the Steeler's defense with. This could be a recipe for disaster.

Quarterbacks like Joe Flacco and Dak Prescott were able to move effectively through the Steeler's defense for most of their games. Neither of those two are on the same level as Rodgers, even though he is older. Even Aidan O'Connell and the Raiders were able to move the ball rather effectively against Pittsburgh's defense despite their turnover problems. They have not faced a quarterback of this caliber.

When it comes to the Steelers offense, they will not have an easy task in front of them. The Jets have a strong defensive front. The black and gold have plenty of injuries across their offensive line, and that is going to make their run game mute. A lot of their success will have to come through the passing attack, but the Jets have some quality pass rushers upfront to disrupt their game.

It is hard to look past how poorly the Steeler's defense has been when it comes to letting opposing offenses go up and down the field rather effectively. They rely too much on turnovers to bail themselves out.

New York is a desperate team, and there are plenty of question marks going into this game for the Steelers. Rodgers is going to have a big day and it will be a disaster for Pittsburgh.
