Predicting the outcome of Steelers Week 8 matchup vs. Giants
Well, if you look at the final score from the Steelers' Week 7 matchup, it will seem like their game against the Giants will be a cakewalk. Pittsburgh knows better than to immediately chalk this one up as a victory. Mike Tomlin has a complex history of losing games against teams they should beat. It brings concern to each game no matter the level of opponent the black and gold are scheduled to face.
With that being said, this should be a cakewalk for the Steelers. Few teams are playing worse football at the moment than the Giants. They are truly one of the worst teams in the NFL and seem to be on track to finish with a top-five selection in the coming 2025 NFL Draft. Pittsburgh should help them with tanking by handling their business under the lights on Monday night.
It might be foolish to imagine that the home team can produce the same number of points per game that they had in the prior two contests. At some point, the Steelers will likely fall under the 30-point mark again.
Russell Wilson showed some good things, but he also got bailed out in certain situations. He provided a spark to the offense, but he must be careful with the ball and not show signs of rustiness.
Pittsburgh vs New York Week 8 prediction: Steelers 24, Giants 16
When it is all said and done, the Steelers should produce a final score that is pleasing to the eyes of Pittsburgh's fans. Looking beyond the surface of the final score, this might not be as easy of a game as many might imagine. Yes, the Giants are a poor team, but you cannot discount Tomlin's struggles against inferior competition. New York should be able to keep this tight.
Daniel Jones is playing bad football at the moment, but plenty of players on that roster are fighting for their futures right now. They should be able to make some plays with the quality receivers that they employ. If the Giants can find a way to not turn over the football, then they could have a chance to stick in this matchup until the bitter end. Pittsburgh could get fans' blood pressure to rise again.
Wilson needs to protect the ball and show some stronger signs, even though his final stat line looked glorious last week. He needs to find some extra consistency moving forward. Both Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren need to find pathways through a tough defensive front from the Giants. They cannot let Wilson be the only dimension for their offense as it could spell disaster.
Pittsburgh's defense has a ton of playmakers, and it is obvious which roster is better heading into this game. Sometimes the club with the better team doesn't win each week, but the Steeler's defense should be able to destroy this Giants offensive line for the most part. A late touchdown allows the black and gold to secure a win and pad the final score to calm some fans from a potential scare.
