You've probably heard it said by now: the Steelers struggle playing against the Eagles on the road. Pittsburgh hasn't won a game in Philadelphia since 1965 and Mike Tomlin is 0-3 all-time when facing the Eagles on their turf.
Furthermore, the Steelers have a dismal record of 29-49-3 when squaring up with this out-of-conference Pennsylvania rival. This by itself is a discouraging sign, and it feels even more hopeless when you consider wide receiver George Pickens will be sidelined with a hamstring injury.
But the Steelers do have one significant factor working in their favor.
Quarterback Russell Wilson, who spent the first decade of his career in the NFC with the Seahawks, has never lost a game against the Eagles in 13 NFL seasons. Wilson has a perfect 6-0 record against Seattle, including being 1-0 against the Seahawks in the postseason.
Wilson is 4-0 all-time when playing in Philadelphia over the years. Though the former Super Bowl-winning quarterback is two teams removed from his Seattle days, there's no question he's had the Eagles' number.
Something's got to give in Steelers vs. Eagles game
Wilson's success in Philly is quite literally the exact opposite of what we've seen from the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Super Bowl era — a quarterback who never loses in this setting and a franchise that never wins in this setting.
By default, something's got to give this week. But which streak will be shattered?
Wilson has been a phenomenal addition to the Steelers this year, and at 36 years old, he's proved that he's not washed-up like some of the other aging quarterbacks around the league. Unfortunately, it feels like Wilson's perfect track record against this elite NFL franchise could be coming to an end in Week 15.

The Eagles are an 11-2 football team with a well-rounded roster and the third-best point differential in the league. Philadelphia is currently on a nine-game winning streak and a first-round bye is within their grasp if they can take care of business down the stretch.
Considering the circumstances, it's more reasonable to believe Wilson's streak will snap before the Steelers get their first win in Philly since the NFL merger. The Steelers don't match up well against the Eagles and not having Pickens could make it very difficult for Pittsburgh to move the ball consistently and put points on the board this week.
There's a reason why the Eagles are clear favorites in this Week 15 contest. If Russell Wilson can dig Pittsburgh out of a 58-year slump when playing in Philadelphia, this quarterback will prove more than capable of leading the Steelers to a Super Bowl.
