It will be the National Team facing off against the American Team at the Senior Bowl. Both have several notable draft prospects who could hear their names called early in the 2026 NFL Draft in April. The Pittsburgh Steelers will continue their tradition of showing interest in this All-Star event. It pits top prospects against one another as they attempt to raise their draft stock during the week.
There are several players at different positions to keep a close eye on the American Team.
The Steelers have picked many of their draft selections from prospects who participated in this event. Don't expect that to change even though Mike Tomlin is no longer in the building. It will be an interesting week to see how prospects perform and how that affects their draft projections.
Pittsburgh Steelers could select several Senior Bowl prospects in 2026 NFL Draft
Garrett Nussmeier, QB, LSU
While this crop of quarterbacks in the NFL Draft is sparse, there could be some who emerge from the woodwork. Garrett Nussmeier had high expectations going into the year, but injuries and disappointing play hindered him. Nussmeier has a connection to Mike McCarthy, as his father, Doug Nussmeier, was the quarterback coach in Dallas during McCarthy's four years with the Cowboys.
Daylen Everette, CB, Georgia
Pittsburgh rarely shows a lack of interest in Georgia prospects, and attending their pro day is standard practice.
With the shuffling in the secondary this offseason for the Steelers, expect them to target a cornerback in the draft. Daylen Everette has a high pedigree and a quality chunk of starting experience. He should be able to dominate at the Senior Bowl. A strong showing for Everette should boost his current projections.
Ja'Kobi Lane, WR, USC
Most scouts are excited about his teammate at USC, Makai Lemon, but don't look past Ja'Kobi Lane. He was overshadowed by Lemon for most of his collegiate career, but Lane has plenty of talent. The Steelers will be on the hunt for quality receivers this offseason, and Lane could be an option. A strong week at the Senior Bowl would be terrific for Lane, who could finally emerge from Lemon's shadow.

Malachi Fields, WR, Notre Dame
There has already been reported interest from the Steelers in Malachi Fields during this past college season, and don't expect it to end anytime soon. Pittsburgh is desperate for answers at the receiver position, so it could add multiple pieces between free agency and the NFL Draft.
Fields is a massive target standing at 6'4, but his lack of production will count on a solid outing at the Senior Bowl to put him in a higher standing.
Jack Kelly, LB, BYU
Pittsburgh's outside linebackers remain a strong point, but changes could be on the horizon in the coming weeks. Rumors suggest that Nick Herbig might request a trade if his role does not expand. If that occurs, Jack Kelly could be an intriguing option to replace Herbig for the Steelers. Kelly was a star edge rusher at BYU and should have a dominant week at the Senior Bowl.
