Steelers 2025 mock draft after Week 7: Pittsburgh lands a generational RB
Pittsburgh just stacked back-to-back wins after their Week 7 victory over the New York Jets this past weekend. The Steelers struggled out of the gate, but they were able to take advantage of some timely turnovers and a field goal block to change the tune of the contest. This allowed Russell Wilson to knock off any rust during the first half.
Now that the black and gold have a pretty 5-2 record, many aren't looking forward to the 2025 NFL Draft yet. That doesn't mean that there aren't plenty of players who could jump onto the Steelers roster now and help boost their talent. With so many pending free agents after the season, Pittsburgh will have plenty of needs to fill in the draft. This mock draft helps chart a course to solve those issues.
Steelers mock draft round 1: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
Starting this mock draft strong as Ashton Jeanty somehow fell to the Steelers in round one. It is highly unlikely that he will fall this far in the draft, but it would be a dream addition for Pittsburgh. Najee Harris will leave after the season, and the Steelers could use a top running back like Jeanty. He is producing at an astronomical rate and is a top contender to win the Heisman trophy.
Steelers mock draft round 2: Kobe Hudson, WR, UCF
He started his career at Auburn before transferring to UCF. He has produced decent numbers throughout his career, but he burst onto the scene last year. His size is in the mold of what most NFL teams look for in prospects. Hudson has a shot to upgrade his draft stock if he can keep on his current path this season. He is currently on pace to have one of his best campaigns yet.
Steelers mock draft round 3: Drew Allar, QB, Penn State
Russell Wilson looked like a legit starter, and it seems like either he or Justin Fields could be back next season. Either way, the Steelers need to add a quarterback in the draft. They pick Drew Allar here as he has a high ceiling to develop with. If Wilson is the one brought back, it would make sense for Pittsburgh to take a developmental quarterback who could start when Wilson retires in a few years.
Steelers mock draft round 4: Mansoor Delane, CB, Virginia Tech
He has made it into a mock draft before, but Mansoor Delane could make a ton of sense for the black and gold. Who knows if Donte Jackson will be re-signed, so the Steelers will be in the market for a starting-caliber cornerback in the draft. Delane provides good size and has a lot of starting experience. He also remains young and someone who could develop into his NFL career.
Steelers mock draft round 5: Ricky White, WR, UNLV
Pittsburgh took a receiver earlier, but they could use some extra help. Ricky White slips to them, and they will love the type of production he has contributed at UNLV. His production last season was eye-popping, and he has still added quality numbers throughout this season. White has also added an element as a punt returner this time around, which will attract the Steelers.
Steelers mock draft round 5: Charles Grant, OT, William & Mary
You better believe Mike Tomlin would love to draft a player coming from his alma matter. Charles Grant has great athleticism as an offensive tackle. He could play almost every position along the offensive line if needed. Grant would be a terrific prospect to mold into a swing tackle, who could eventually start. The Steelers invest in another quality piece to their young offensive line.
Steelers mock draft round 7: Nazir Stackhouse, DT, Georgia
Since Cam Heyward has been terrific this season, the need along the defensive line has quieted down. They push that need to their first pick in round seven by taking Nazir Stackhouse. He was a highly recruited prospect coming out of high school, but he hasn't developed like Georgia had hoped. The Steelers get a guy who has a ton of physical talent that might develop into something at the next level.
Steelers mock draft round 7: Collin Oliver, EDGE, Oklahoma State
He made the previous mock draft, and it makes sense to keep Collin Oliver at this point. The Steelers could use some investment behind their top three edge rushers on the team. Oliver has missed a lot of time this year, but he has produced some quality numbers in the past. He has a light frame, so he will need to rely on speed at the next level. It's worth the gamble for the Steelers last selection.
