It's about time Chris Boswell starts earning recognition. The Pittsburgh Steelers kicker and former 2017 Pro Bowler is on pace to have the greatest season of his NFL career.

Boswell was perfect during the month of October -- drilling every field goal and extra point he attempted. This included a field goal from more than 50 yards out and going 11 for 11 with kicks 49 yards and under.

This spectacular performance earned Boswell AFC Special Teams Player of the Month honors.

Boswell's recognition was well deserved and long overdue. He enters the halfway point of the season as the league's most reliable kicker. Now it's time to finish the job in the second half of the year for All-Pro honors.

Chris Boswell is on a historic pace for Steelers

Entering the Week 9 bye, Boswell is 16 for 16 on point after attempts and 23 of 24 on field goal attempts. His only miss on the season came from over 60 yards out -- an attempt no kicker is expected to make.

Even with the 'miss', Boswell is converting 95.8 percent of his field goals. Prior to this season, his career-high field goal conversion rate was 93.5 percent (in 2019 and 2023).

Entering the 2024 season, Boswell already had more 50-yard field goals made than every kicker in Pittsburgh Steelers history combined. In the first half of the year, he added six more to build on his record.

Boswell has gotten better in his 30s and is on the pace for the greatest kicking season in Steelers history. At this rate, he would break his own records for field goal percentage and field goals made. He in on pace to convert a whopping 48 field goals in 2024. His previous career-high in this department was 36 field goals in 2021 (the final year with Ben Roethlisberger leading the offense).

Chris Boswell has been everything Steelers fans could have hoped for and more. Kickers in the NFL are better than ever, but the 'Wizard of Boz' deserves to be named First-Team All-Pro by the end of the season if he keeps up at this rate.
