Pittsburgh has issues, but at least they aren't stuck with Pickett.

It's not all sunshine and rainbows for the Pittsburgh Steelers, as they have quarterback problems. It appears that Aaron Rodgers will eventually sign with the Steelers, but there is no guarantee that he will land them their first playoff win in eight years. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is realize you are not in as bad a predicament as other teams around the NFL.

The Cleveland Browns have enjoyed a busy offseason. They got their star pass rusher, Myles Garrett, to go from demanding a trade to re-signing on a monster contract. However, concerns remain at the quarterback position despite acquiring Kenny Pickett in a trade earlier this offseason. Cleveland failed to lure Russell Wilson during free agency, and now Pickett may be their only starting option.

Most draft evaluators believe that the incoming rookie quarterbacks are far from great. The Browns must refrain from making previous mistakes of over-drafting, but they are interested in some top names at the position in the upcoming event. It could be a battle between Pickett and a high draft pick to determine the Browns' starter for the 2025 campaign.

No matter what they do in the draft, the Browns should expect Pickett to play meaningful snaps.

Pittsburgh Steelers will be hyped if Browns have to start Kenny Pickett

According to a new report by Zac Jackson of The Athletic, Browns' top decision-makers believe in the former Pitt signal caller. Their head coach, Kevin Stefanski, said he was "excited" about Pickett joining their team.

"So, excited for Kenny and the opportunity, see what he’s capable of, and he’s got the right makeup for it."

Those who saw Pickett play for the Steelers know he is not the type of player you want. He might look the part, but this veteran cannot live up to the starting role. He might be a bridge guy, but he isn't going to turn things around for the Browns. Pittsburgh knows that Pickett struggled when he got benched for Mason Rudolph, which led to his eventual trade to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Despite the evident concerns about Pickett's game, Cleveland's top coach continued the glowing review.

"I think he’s a very intelligent, accurate passer, but he’s somebody who has made plays in games, he’s won football games with great decision-making."

While a new environment could change Pickett's outlook on his career in Cleveland, everyone in Pittsburgh remembers his stint as a catastrophic failure. He won't do much to help your offense move up and down the field. If the Browns get over 20 points per game with Pickett as their starter, Stefanski should win the Coach of the Year Award at season's end.

This year doesn't appear to be any different than most for the Browns. Unless a rookie emerges to succeed Pickett as the starter, there is little hope going into this campaign. The Steelers will not forget their mistake with their former franchise hopeful. It should result in some wins for Pittsburgh if they go up against a Pickett-led offense.
