No one will look at the Giants and see a team that has a shot at making the playoffs. They seem primed to end the season with a top-ten pick in the upcoming draft. New York has plenty of weaknesses, and that has led to the Steelers being the home favorite in their Week 8 matchup. Even though New York has plenty of problems, they do have a deep receiving core.

Pittsburgh has been in rumors surrounding potential upgrades at the receiver position since they traded Diontae Johnson this past offseason. They seem to be trying to acquire a receiver before the deadline passes. New York has some players who could be interesting options for the Steelers. Perhaps their stay in Pittsburgh could last beyond their game in Week 8.

Darius Slayton remains a consistent name in the rumor mill. He would likely cost little to acquire in a deal, but he is a solid veteran receiver who will be a free agent after the season. Even though he might make the most sense on the surface, the Giants have some other interesting names who could be available. Jalin Hyatt is a young receiver who could interest the black and gold.

A trade between the Steelers and Giants could come to a conclusion

With receivers quickly coming off the trade market, the Steeler's options are starting to dry up. They had interest in some bigger names, but most of those players have either gone to different suitors or fell off the trade block. Pittsburgh is starting to run out of time, and their fans are starting to get antsy. Perhaps they will just keep the players they have and hope for a miracle.

If they want to make a move, then Slayton would be a solid addition to Pittsburgh. He has a lot of starting experience and knows his role on a team. He is not a top receiver on an NFL offense, but he remains a productive piece on a bad Giants team. Slayton does the little things right, and that helps him stay consistent on the field. He would be a quality rental option if that's what they are looking for.

On the other hand, if the black and gold want to go outside the box, then Jalin Hyatt could make sense. He is still a young receiver as he sits in the middle of his second NFL season. He is a former third-round pick out of the 2023 NFL Draft but has fallen into a bad situation. Hyatt didn't produce much as a rookie, but he was dealt a depth role this year since the Giants added Malik Nabers.

There are a couple of interesting options on the Steelers' opposing team this time around. They could always try to get a trade going while the Giants are in town. Pittsburgh needs help at their receiver spots, and either Slayton or Hyatt could make sense as possible upgrades. They are running out of time as the deadline approaches, but they could be poaching from the away team this time around.
