Steelers recent talent of losing close games could alter decisions at trade deadline
After starting off the season with a rocky unbeaten record, Pittsburgh has stumbled. It has been nothing but losing, and many are wondering what kind of team the Steelers have. Are they a stout defensive group who can live with their discombobulated offensive approach? Or are they a mediocre team who could win or lose each week? There are plenty of question marks within this organization.
When you have questions, that normally means poor things will happen. Injuries have been catastrophic for the Steelers this season. They have plenty of starters out of the lineup for extended periods. That alone has hurt their chances of being competitive this year, but the question at the quarterback position remains. There is plenty of uncertainty for the black and gold right now.
The old saying goes if you have two quarterbacks, then you have none. Both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields want to be the starter. Wilson has been out with injury, and Fields has played decent enough to remain in the starting conversation. Fields will have a short leash going forward.
One thing is for sure, they needed elevated quarterback play if they want to win games from here on out.
Losing streak could change the Steelers upcoming trade direction
Everything seems bleak right now when you look from the outside. The Steelers are ready for their next game, but fans are concerned. The way Pittsburgh has lost their past two games has been problematic. Either the defense or offense can't capitalize to win the game at the end. Many things have swung against the Steeler's favor. They need to find ways of turning lucky luck on their side.
With the trade deadline on November 5 getting closer, the Steelers are in an awkward state. They want to try and find ways to upgrade their team, but are they in a position to do that? They are barely winning games, and the ones they lose show a troubling trend. They have been rumored to be connected to top talent in the rumor mill. They need quality pieces on their team if they want a chance at success.
Everyone in Pittsburgh wants the Steelers to trade for Davante Adams. It would be a great addition, but he might not be a game-breaker since the team refuses to air the football out. There are plenty of issues on this team and adding Adams might not fix it all. If they would trade for an upgrade at receiver and keep losing, it could be a reverse Chase Claypool trade scenario.
Omar Khan will do his best to upgrade his roster before the trade deadline passes, but the team needs to show that they are worthy of the investment. If they can't find ways to win their next handful of games before the deadline passes, then Khan may be willing to do nothing. Pittsburgh must win games now if they want a chance at seeing upgrades get traded to the Steelers in the coming weeks.
