The Steelers are limping into this matchup ahead of their bye week with an injury list as long as the roster.

This definitely won’t be the Ben Roethlisberger vs. Tom Brady shootout it was billed to be when the schedule was released with Roethlisberger sidelined with a knee injury. Pittsburgh will also have to go without Cameron Heyward for another week as well.

So missing the offense team captain and one of the defensive team captains, coming off of a butt-ugly loss to the crappy Dolphins last week and the Patriots are in town? Sure it’s fine. What could go wrong?

DeAngelo Williams, Markus Wheaton and Marcus Gilbert are all out as well. It’s fine. Everything is fine. Next man up. The standard is the standard. Something about effort and oh lord I hope this isn’t a massacre.

If they could just get to the bye week without losing anyone else it would be somewhat of a victory, right? Let’s be positive. Pittsburgh has a history of rebounding from bad losses with statement-making wins. Just look at how they destroyed Kansas City after crapping the bed in Philly?

What a confidence booster this would be if Landry Jones could lead the team to a victory over the Patriots. He does have Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell after all. It’s not like the cupboard is totally bare. Crazier things have happened in the NFL.

These Patriots (without Tom Brady) did get blanked by Buffalo after all. So you’re saying there’s a chance?
