NPC’s Week 5 NFL Picks

facebooktwitterreddit

The first quarter of the 2014 NFL season is in the books and there have been surprises, upsets, and even scandals looming over the action. There are two unbeaten teams and two winless teams and already a coach has been fired. What will the rest of the season bring?

More from Steelers News

Here at Nice Pick Cowher we are not only a bunch of nerds who follow the Pittsburgh Steelers tirelessly but we are also a bunch of nerds who follow the NFL tirelessly. Therefore we put our money (or maybe just pride) where our mouths are and make picks on every NFL game each week. We don’t mess around with point spreads or anything like that. Just straight up picks.

Week 5 begins with a Thursday night divisional matchup between Minnesota and Green Bay in a game the NFL is probably sure hoping isn’t yet another blowout, unwatchable mess that the Thursday night games so far have been. The other divisional game includes Tampa Bay taking a trip to New Orleans to face the surprising 1-3 Saints. Kansas City will try to build on their recent Monday night blowout of New England when they travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers. Speaking of New Orleans, with all the talk of Tom Brady not having “it” anymore, it should be interesting to see if they can turn it around against the undefeated Bengals on Sunday night.

The Steelers will travel south to Jacksonville to try and wash the stink from last week’s home loss to Tampa Bay off of them with a win over the winless Jaguars.  Be prepared for more mentions on how “Steelers fans travel well” in this game. Steeler Nation is very strong in Florida and of all the games I’ve been to down there personally; this is the stadium that gets almost completely taken over by Steelers fans.

Jason edged out the pack last week with the victory by correctly picking Kansas City to spank New England on Monday Night Football. His prize is that he gets to share the overall lead with me for one week before I crush him and the rest of these chumps.
