Todd Haley unfazed
If you think Todd Haley is going home every night to sulk about being the target for yinzer scorn everywhere you’d be wrong. According to the Trib’s Alan Robinson, Haley is unfazed by the criticism that he’s at fault for the Steelers’ offensive woes and that he should have been fired like yesterday. What could be keeping Haley’s spirits up? Possibly knowing that even though he’s coordinating the league’s 31st worst red zone offense (ahead of only Bruce Arians’ Arizona Cardinals), he’s at least put together an offense with Le’Veon Bell leading the AFC in rushing and Antonio Brown leading the AFC in receiving. The longer the team goes without turning their impressive offensive stats into touchdowns; however, the longer Haley will continue to be criticized for the lack of production.
Mitchell and Keisel expected to play Monday
ESPN Steelers reporter Scott Brown updated the Steelers injury statuses after their Saturday practice. Safety Mike Mitchell and defensive end Brett Keisel will likely play on Monday night after spending some time this week in limited action in practice. Rookie linebacker Ryan Shazier remains questionable as does Houston Texans rookie linebacker Jadeveon Clowney. Could be a game time decision for both rookie linebackers.
Markus Wheaton looking to rebound
On Sunday’s loss to the Cleveland Browns, Steelers second-year wide receiver
looked as if he was just thrown onto the roster and had never even met
before let alone caught passes from him before.
with Wheaton on Saturday to discuss what his preparation was like for the Texans game to get back on the same page with Ben.
