Ben Roethlisberger in the zone

When the Heinz Field PA system announced the accomplishments that Ben recorded on Sunday’s win over the Colts the crowd, those of us who were still there that hadn’t rushed out to beat the traffic on the Parkway, went friggin nuts. As Teresa Varley explains, Ben’s offensive line went nuts as well. They did a phenomenal job themselves contributing to Ben’s record-breaking night, keeping him without being sacked for 49 pass attempts. Mike Adams, in for the injured Marcus Gilbert, said that Ben was just plain in the zone on Sunday afternoon.

James Harrison of old returns

The stat sheet will only show that the Steelers sacked Andrew Luck twice on Sunday, one of them coming from James Harrison, who played like the James Harrison of old for the first time since the Steelers lured him out of retirement in late September, but, as ESPN Steelers reporter Scott Brown states, that doesn’t tell the real story of just what kind of pressure the Steelers defense put Luck under for the whole game. Harrison not only recorded a sack but was also credited with a quarterback hit, one of seven the Steelers defense recorded for the game. Harrison claims to be still “on his way back” to his football shape and if the last game was any indication, it should get better and better from here on out.
