The Return of Deebo
Peter King profiled Steelers LB James Harrison in his MMQB on Friday, illustrating how the 36-year old linebacker is one of the surprise stories of the NFL 2014 season. Harrison officially retired with the Steelers on Sept. 5th, and then after Jarvis Jones fractured his wrist, was coaxed out of retirement by Coach Tomlin and several of his teammates. He told King that he had the offer to play for the Arizona Cardinals but turned them down because he didn’t want to be away from his two young sons, it was his sons’ approval that gave him the final decision on whether or not to return to the Steelers.
Adams ready to go
Marcus Gilbert is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Saints, according to Mike Prisuta, after not practicing since Wednesday. Mike Adams is ready to start in his place as he has before, finishing the game for Gilbert against the Texans and starting against the Colts. When Adams started on the line for the Steelers against Indianapolis, Ben Roethlisberger was not sacked the entire game and the offense scored 42 points with Roethlisberger throwing for six touchdowns. Adams started last season on the left side, but was yanked in favor of Kelvin Beachum after the Steelers opened with an 0-4 start.
Steelers vs. Saints prediction
ESPN’s Scott Brown reminds us how a 4-7 team coming into Heinz Field to take on the Steelers might be cause for some anxiety, given how the Steelers play against “lesser” opponents. However, this particular 4-7 Saints team doesn’t necessarily fit that same description as for one they are still in the thick of the playoff hunt in the NFC South where no team is over .500 and for another they’ve been an enigma this season, one of if not the most underachieving team in the NFL this season. Should make for a close, exciting game, or a blowout by the Steelers, you never can tell. The Steelers are rested coming off of a bye while the Saints are coming off of a short week, losing to the Ravens last Monday night at home. Brown’s prediction for the game; the Steelers win it 34-24. What’s your prediction?
