The Pittsburgh Steelers will square off against the Cincinnati Bengals for what is essentially the AFC North Championship game. A win by either team will mean capturing the North division as well as a home game for the opening round of Wild Card games.
The last time these two teams met, just three weeks ago, the Steeler offense went off for an offensive explosion in the second half that left the Bengals licking their wounds at home 42-21. The Steelers have substantial momentum going into the game winning their last three straight – the first being the walloping on the Bengals. The Steelers have never won eight games straight, and that’s what they would essentailly be doing should they beat Cincy and head into the playoffs for their shot at the Lombardi.

The Bungles have momentum as well, however ballooned it may be. The Bengals defeated the Peyton Manning and the Broncos on Monday night last week and in good defensive fashion. They intercepted Manning four times and scored, easily at times, 21 offensive points against the Broncos D. Manning hasn’t been playing well the last few weeks, obviously something is wrong. And, the Broncos D played numerous combinations of their second and even third stringers. Not really something you can proudly hang your hat on, but the Bengals (and Cincy fans) will gladly tout the win.
You’d have to have living under a very large rock or out in international waters to not know the significance of this football game. You would also have to be completely oblivious to know that this game became flexed from Sunday afternoon to Sunday evening. Once last Sunday closed out, the NFL and NBC announced that they would be moving this game to Sunday night – the best game that should get the best ratings considering the team markets and what is at stake.
