Pittsburgh Steelers: Super Bowl 50 Odds

Now that Super Bowl XLIX is over and the New England Patriots are the champions, it’s time to look forward to the 2015 season, because who really wants to dwell on the Patriots winning another Super Bowl?  One place that has already moved onto next year is Las Vegas, who has already released their odds to win Super Bowl 50.  Here are the Super Bowl odds of all 32 NFL teams via Pro Football Talk.

The Seattle Seahawks are the overall favorites at 5-1 and the Patriots have the best odds in the AFC, 6-1.  The Pittsburgh Steelers however have the eighth best odds to win the Super Bowl at 20-1. They are also have the fourth best odds in the AFC behind the Patriots, Denver Broncos, and Indianapolis Colts.

Dave Tuley, an ESPN gambling expert, has listed the Steelers as his best value pick to win Super Bowl 50 in his most recent post on ESPN.

"“”I’m going with the Steelers as my top value play, at 20-1.  With Le’Veon Bell having his breakout season and Ben Roethlisberger and his receiving corps, they have the offensive firepower to play with anyone.  I know Hall of Fame defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau left, but I have no doubt Mike Tomlin and the organization will make defense a priority, and improve the unit.  The AFC North will again be tough (and I wouldn’t blame anyone for making a case for the Bengals or Ravens), but the Steelers look to me to have the most upside.” -Tuley on the Steelers chances"

The Steelers have the best odds out of their AFC North rivals.  The Bengals have 25-1 odds, compared to the Ravens at 30-1, and bringing up the rear is the Cleveland Browns with 75-1 odds.  Personally I’m a little surprised the Steelers and Bengals have better odds than the Ravens to win the Super Bowl.  Considering the Ravens knocked the Steelers out of the playoffs and then nearly knocked off the Patriots in the divisional round.

What do you think Steelers Nation?  Do 20-1 odds for the Steelers to win next year’s Super Bowl seem fair?
