He’s not really a free agent

Adrian Peterson was activated off of the commissioner’s exemption list last week and speculation began immediately over where he may end up. However, he’s still under contract with the Minnesota Vikings and there’s no real concrete info that hints at a possible trade.

Still, teams like the Dallas Cowboys, Arizona Cardinals and Oakland Raiders are all being discussed as possible landing spots for the 30-year-old running back. He’s not likely to show up for the voluntary offseason workouts that begin today, but that’s not an indication that he’s planning to sit the season out. If he does plan to sit out, the Vikings shouldn’t get stubborn and just keep him and let him hold out, they should trade him to the Raiders, that’ll be punishment enough.
