Looks like tiny bits of the 2015 NFL Regular Season Schedule are getting squeezed out all over the place and one little nugget that has already escaped is the season opener which will feature your Pittsburgh Steelers traveling to New England to take on the Super Bowl Champion Patriots.
Sure sounds like Steelers at Patriots in Thursday night regular-season opener. Full NFL schedule release tonight at 8 on ESPN.

Le’Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount might as well make plans to watch this one together as both will be suspended for this game stemming from the same incident last summer where they were pulled over on the way to the airport for a Steelers preseason game and had weed in the car. Blount subsequently went on to walk out on the Steelers and was released and picked up by the Patriots.
While the Steelers offense will have their hands full wondering how they’ll manage without their All-Pro running back after not faring well in last year’s AFC Wild Card Playoff Game, the Steelers defense will have the task of defending Tom Brady for their first test of life without the likes of Dick LeBeau, Troy Polamalu, Ike Taylor and Brett Keisel.
It should go fine, right?
Later on this evening the remaining details of the Steelers 2015 Schedule will be released and we’ll know just how many other prime time matchups the Steelers will face in their 2015 campaign. The Patriots earned the right to host the first game of the season with their Super Bowl victory and it was suspected since the opponents were released in December that the Steelers would be the ideal pick for the opening game.
The Patriots have a rather vanilla home schedule facing teams like the Eagles, Bills, Jets, Dolphins, Titans, Jaguars and Washington. Now we know there is no “Tebow Agenda” by the league or they would have for sure scheduled the Patriots and Eagles to square off for the opening game since Tim Tebow’s last stop in the NFL was on the Patriots roster in 2013 where he was cut before the regular season began.
Will Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers offense have enough fire power to outscore the Patriots? Will the now Keith Butler-led Steelers defense have what it takes to get to Tom Brady?
What do you think of the Steelers opening the 2015 regular season against the New England Patriots?
