The Steelers former running back and Super Bowl champion, Jerome Bettis, will finally see his bust be placed amongst the other legends in the Pro Football Hall of Fame this summer.

The induction ceremony will take place on Saturday August 8th. The already sold out event will be packed with high profile attendees among fans lucky enough to snag pre-sale tickets.

Each inductee gets to invite some special guests to be part of the festivities. That mainly comes down to family and very close friends.

On Tuesday, former Steelers offensive tackle Max Starks, posted an Instagram photo of something he received in the mail.

In case you can’t see it very well, that’s an autographed invitation to the 2015 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

Starks and Bettis were very close when Starks entered his NFL career with the Steelers back in 2004. As you can see from the text in the Instagram, Starks looked up to Bettis as a great person and teacher.

They spent only two seasons together, but won a Super Bowl in what became Bettis’ final season in the NFL.

The sentiment of friendship from Bettis must have been likewise to offer up this invitation to probably what will be considered Bettis’ greatest professional achievement.

Now, Starks will have a ‘front row’ view of watching a great friend and mentor receive his gold jacket and join the ranks of the NFL’s best in Canton.

Starks will be attending as a former NFL player himself. He hasn’t worn a Steelers uniform since 2012. He retired in January 2015 after struggling to remain on a roster, but you can always see him on Twitter rooting for the team and players he truly cared for – the Pittsburgh Steelers.
