He did ok

The Steelers Mike Prisuta summed up his final thoughts on the Steelers 23-20 OT loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night by going around the locker room and gathering the thoughts of those who were out on the field.

One of the positives that can be taken away from the game is while it’s very apparent that Michael Vick is no Ben Roethlisberger, he did ok. The Steelers gave him a very conservative game plan and he made few mistakes going 19 of 26 for 124 passing yards, a touchdown and no interceptions. He also rushed nine times for 33 yards.

Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell gives Vick praise on his performance in the game.

"“I think he played well. He definitely went out there, did everything we asked him to do, didn’t turn the ball over, managed the game well and made plays. We just came up short as a team.” – Le’Veon Bell"

I want beef to eat, I ain’t got no beef

Steelers safety Mike Mitchell has apparently landed himself on Steve Smith’s lifetime “hit list” because Steve Smith just likes to be angry at people. The PPG’s Ray Fittipaldo reminds us that the hit that took Steve Smith Sr. out of the game Thursday night with a lower back injury was delivered by Lawrence Timmons, not Mitchell.

Still, this is what Smith had to say following the game.

When asked about Smith’s remarks, Mitchell responded that Smith has a lot of emotions. “Steve is an emotional guy. He’s used that emotion for years to be a great player. That’s something he uses to try to fuel himself. I will say, if you look at my fine history, I’m more of a helmet to helmet kind of guy, so I’m not going to spear you.” – Mike Mitchell Also, Mitchell isn’t all that concerned with whatever target he might have on his back from Smith.

"“It’s not even something I concern myself with. I didn’t think anything of it when I heard of it. I don’t think anything of it now. I’m just going to go on playing football.” – Mike Mitchell"

Here are some more of Smith’s antics during the game. Such a nice guy. Since he’s a senior citizen, he’ll likely forget he made this idle threat against Mitchell by the time the two teams meet again in Week 16.

Can anybody around here kick a field goal?

The Steelers are about to tell Josh Scobee to kick rocks, which he’ll probably miss since he’s gone 3 of 7 for field goals so far this season. Nevertheless, Michael David Smith of PFT reports that the Steelers are hosting some kickers this weekend including former Washington Redskins kicker Kai Forbath.

Jeff Reed is still desperately reminding everyone how available he is and how many times he’s reached out to the Steelers.
