The Steelers travel to Kansas City in the hopes of starting their first actual winning streak of the season. So far they’ve been able to put together back-to-back wins yet but haven’t turned that into a streak. Hopefully going up against the 1-5 Chiefs can result in the birth of a streak.
The Chiefs are coming off of a 16-10 road loss to the Minnesota Vikings and are going without their All Pro running back Jamaal Charles since he tore his ACL in a week 5 loss to the Chicago Bears. The Steelers, on the other hand, are hoping to protect Landry Jones from Kansas City’s pass rush without Kelvin Beachum, who tore his ACL last week in a win over the Arizona Cardinals.
Speaking of Landry Jones, all signs are pointing to him being the starter on Sunday while Ben Roethlisberger acclimates himself back into the practice routine after his week 3 MCL sprain and bone bruise. Landry surprised everyone (except for the coaches, obviously) by stepping in last week for an injured and ineffective Michael Vick in the third quarter and led the Steelers to a comeback victory.
As of Friday Ben Roethlisberger was upgraded to questionable status for the Chiefs game after participating in limited practice throughout the week. The mystery over who will start at quarterback for the Steelers might just only be revealed on gameday.
