The Steelers will try to rebound from two consecutive losses with the most recent being a pivotal divisional game against the Bengals when they host the Oakland Raiders this Sunday. While they prepare to dig themselves out of a hole we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Friday, Nov. 6th.

The ageless wonder

The Steelers will be facing a very competitive Oakland Raiders team, not necessarily the Raiders teams they’ve face of late that have actually been difficult to beat. Teresa Varley spoke to some Raiders players on what and who they’re focusing on to try and beat the Steelers.

Teresa spoke to safety Charles Woodson, who is having a phenomenal season at the age of 39 for the Raiders on who from the Steelers offense deserves the most attention from him this Sunday.

"“First, you start with Big Ben (Roethlisberger), start there with the quarterback. The team has a good quarterback who makes everything go, so you start there with him. Just as a fan of the game, a fan of football, I think one of the most exciting players in the league is Antonio Brown. He’s a special player, so I would say Big Ben and Antonio. You could say that about a number of those young guys in there. They are capable of making plays.” – Charles Woodson"

Offense doesn’t change

While DeAngelo Williams and Le’Veon Bell have completely different running styles and are two different kinds of backs ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler suggests that is no reason for the Steelers’ offense to change with Williams in in place of the injured Bell.

Williams led the AFC in rushing after the first two weeks of the season under Bell’s suspension and has looked more than capable of producing explosive plays on the ground. He may not be the receiving threat that Bell is but that doesn’t mean he’s out of the question in that respect at all.

Baby on the way

Steelers defensive end Cameron Heyward could be facing a very tough decision on Sunday when the Raiders come to town and it has nothing to do with which angle he should take to try to get to Derek Carr. According to Mark Kaboly of the Trib, Heyward and his wife, Allie, are expecting the birth of their first child any day now.

Heyward might have to choose whether or not he’d miss the game to be present for the birth of his son.

"“I haven’t even thought about it that way. I would love to be there for my son and I want to be there for the first time he comes into the world. I don’t think it will come to that (having the baby on Sunday). I have my fingers crossed that the baby comes sooner rather than later.” – Cam Heyward"

The Steelers would have a hard time replacing a player like Heyward on the defense but Heyward would have a difficult time rationalizing missing the birth of his child to play in a game.
