The Steelers will definitely be enjoying their bye week after a home win over the Browns and having more injuries this season than anyone can keep track of. While the team ices up their bumps and bruises during the bye we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Tuesday, Nov. 17th.
Totes Arthur Moats
Steelers linebacker Arthur Moats was called for a personal foul penalty on Sunday when he grabbed the facemask of Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel and inadvertently spun his helmet around. Manziel was left shaken up on the play but didn’t leave the game. Teresa Varley explains that Moats made sure to let Manziel know that there was no ill will or bad intent on the play.
@JManziel2 Mybad on the facemask bro. No hard feelings

To flip or not to flip

Believe it or not there were Steelers fans who were genuinely upset over
Antonio Brown’s decision to front flip into the end zone on Sunday afternoon.
The PPG’s Ray Fittipaldo describes
how even the Steelers were split on their feelings about the flip.
Mike Tomlin was OK with the flip but quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was not.
"“Tomlin said it was better to stick the landing than land on my back. Ben said don’t do it anymore.” – Antonio Brown"
I’d tend to think that Brown is going to do whatever makes Roethlisberger happy so that he keeps throwing him the football, which ends up working out for everybody anyway. I still give the flip a 10 myself.
Gossip Folks
When the yinzers weren’t huffing and puffing about how back in their day the wide receivers never front flipped into the end zone like Antonio Brown they were busy gossiping like a bunch of high school girls about why former Steelers safety Troy Polamalu was noticeably absent from the team’s alumni weekend, which celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Super Bowl XL Championship team.
Colin Dunlap, a columnist for CBS Pittsburgh and a host of the morning show on 93.7 The Fan speculated that Polamalu’s absence was due to beef he has with the team over his departure in April citing “multiple sources” confirmed Polamalu wanted no part of the alumni weekend and has purposely distanced himself from the franchise.
A quick check of Polamalu’s social media would reveal that he was in Atlanta over the weekend doing a promotion for AT&T and Uber. Whether Polamalu intentionally is distancing himself from the Steelers franchise or football in general remains to be seen and is totally and completely his business.
To speculate that there is some hard feelings or bad blood between the Steelers franchise and one of their most iconic players is silly and implies that the Steelers did something wrong. Let’s not pretend that Polamalu was running on all cylinders his last couple of seasons.
Next: Steelers must re-sign Gay
Let’s not pretend that his timing was great, and he never missed a tackle. Let’s also not pretend that his concussion history and reckless style of play wasn’t leading him towards an early retirement all along. If Troy needs a minute to step away from the Steelers to come to terms with his career being over, give it to him, without the gossip. He’s earned it.
