Cameron Heyward

As bad as Pittsburgh’s run defense was on Sunday their lack of pressure may have been even worse, and what ultimately led to their downfall.

For the game the Steelers managed just one sack (Brandon Boykin’s) and four quarterback hits.

Without having to worry about getting hit as he threw, Ryan Mallett was free to sling the ball all over the field, and that’s exactly what he did.

It was a collective failure but Heyward got totally taken out of the game by Baltimore’s offensive line. If he had been able to get any kind of pressure the result may have been very different indeed.

Where do the Steelers go from here? The real question might be if it even matters anymore.
