The Steelers lost a critical game in Baltimore that has put them in a tough position as far as the playoff race is concerned.
While the Steelers return to town and regroup to get ready to face the Browns in the regular season finale we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Monday, Dec. 28th.
Lesson learned
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin spoke after the Steelers 20-17 loss to the Ravens and explained the painful lesson the Steelers team had to learn in the loss and that’s that they are capable of beating anyone but also capable of losing to anyone and a lot of that has to do with winning or losing the turnover battle.

"“We’re capable of beating anyone but also capable of losing to anyone, particularly if we lose the turnover battle as we did today.” – Mike Tomlin"
The Ravens just made the plays that the Steelers didn’t and the Steelers didn’t handle their business as they should have. Such is life. As Tomlin explained because of not handling their business they’ll be forced to look around at other stadiums next week.
They can still earn a playoff berth next week with a win in Cleveland tomorrow but will also need a loss by the Jets to the Buffalo Bills. So that’s correct, we’re counting on Rex Ryan. Crap.
We blew it
The defeated feeling was all over the Steelers locker room following the disappointing loss to the Ravens. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger spoke to reporters and took responsibility for giving the ball away.
"“We controlled our own destiny, and we blew it today. We gave the ball away, and you can’t do that. I can’t do that.” – Ben Roethlisberger"

After scoring 30+ points in the previous four games the Steelers offense was stalled with Roethlisberger going 24 of 34 for 215 passing yards and two interceptions.
Digest Player of the Week
The Ravens defense seemed to heavily commit early against the deep ball which allowed Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams to get to work right away on the ground. As a result Williams was named the Steelers Digest Player of the Week for his 100 rushing yards on 17 carries and both of the Steelers touchdowns or the day.

Williams also added to the offense with six catches for 53 yards to become the most productive part of the Steelers offense on Sunday.
