The Steelers draft picks have been signed and the offseason workout program is about to wrap up before the long break prior to training camp.

Steelers season never truly ends for Steeler Nation so while the team starts to put in the work to prepare for the 2016 NFL season we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Tuesday, June 14th.

Last week Steelers offensive line coach Mike Munchak told us that the left tackle position battle will be sorted out during training camp. After stepping in for the injured Kelvin Beachum last season Alejandro Villanueva is the incumbent left tackle.

The Steelers signed
from the Denver Broncos this offseason to compete for the starting position.
Teresa Varley has Villanueva’s remarks on how he utilized the offseason workouts to get himself ready for that position battle in training camp.
"“I look at myself as being part of the offensive line. My job right now is not the starting left tackle of the Pittsburgh Steelers. My job is to compete to become one of the five starters for the Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line. It’s something I have to work really hard for. Nothing is going to be handed to me. There are great players here. I don’t know who the starting left tackle is. Nobody has been announced.” – Alejandro Villanueva"
Keep in mind that until last season Villanueva hadn’t played a down of football as an offensive tackle. He really did a remarkable job.

The city is stoked. Parade on Wednesday and then hopefully again in February.
Who’s up first?
With the Steelers about to head into their summer vacations after the mandatory minicamp wraps up this week there will be contracts to think about. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler thinks that offensive guard David DeCastro will be the first one to land a new deal with the team.
Next: Double dominent tight end set for Steelers?
The Steelers haven’t done any contract extensions yet this season so those with the giant camp numbers like Lawrence Timmons and Ben Roethlisberger remain, for now. It’s unclear whether or not the team will restructure/extend some players before they offer new deals because they don’t really need the cap space.
