The Steelers are officially on summer vacation as the offseason workout program wrapped up and they won’t come back together until reporting to training camp later this month.

Steelers season never really ends for Steeler nation so while the Steelers players get their minds and bodies right to embark on the 2016 regular season we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Friday, July 8th.
Dog on the field
Teresa Varley is back to helping us get to know the new Steelers this season. This time she features rookie defensive tackle Javon Hargrave. Hargrave was the Steelers’ third round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft out of South Carolina State.
He describes his playing style as being a dog on the field and he probably means a mean dog because he boasts of his proudest football moment so far being when he had six sacks in one game, breaking his college’s school record.

His opinion of us Steelers fans so far is that he realizes we know our stuff.
"“They know their sports. Some of them already told me about my videos and stuff like that, so I know they are into their sports and big fans of the game.” – Javon Hargrave"
Even my mama don’t like him, and she likes everybody
ESPN’s Kevin Siefert ranked the NFL’s top rival for each team. It’s no surprise that he listed the number one rival of all of the NFL to be the Steelers vs. Vontaze Burfict. He’s not a well-liked man.
He basically ended the Steelers’ season last year by taking out Le’Veon Bell, Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown separately with dirty hits.
Burfict will serve a three-game suspension to start the 2016 season because of his nastiness, making the Sunday Night Football meeting in Week 15 between the two teams very much highly anticipated.
Spare us, football gods
Steelers guard Ramon Foster is making a plea to the football gods for good health this year for Pittsburgh. He realizes, as does the rest of the league, that the potential for a legit Super Bowl run is pretty high this year even with receiver Martavis Bryant suspended the entire year.
Pro Football Talk’s Zac Jackson reminds us how the Steelers came pretty friggin close last year after losing Maurkice Pouncey early on, then Le’Veon Bell mid-way through, Ben Roethlisberger missing five starts and DeAngelo Williams and Antonio Brown unavailable for the final playoff game.
Next: Should Le'Veon Bell get paid?
Everybody do their special ceremonies to appease the football gods and we can just sit back and enjoy the ride.
