Steelers News: Ben Roethlisberger, Cam Heyward, Arthur Moats

The Steelers have lost four in a row and are about to embark on a two-game road trip to try to turn this season around.

That’s not what he said

The team is coming out in full force so far this week to contend that there is no dissention in the locker room and there is no way the team is not fully behind coach Mike Tomlin. Ben Roethlisberger spoke in his usual spot on The Cook and Poni Show on 93.7 The Fan on Tuesday morning.

He reiterated his stance that the team has discipline and accountability issues but maintained that he never pointed the fingers in any specific direction.

Well this sucks

There was some air deflated out of the balloon for the 2016 season on Tuesday when Cameron Heyward revealed that he had played his last down of the year. Rumors were swirling that he had suffered a serious pectoral injury but during Tomlin’s presser it was still uncertain.

Heyward took to Instagram to relay the news that he had a torn pectoral muscle and would be out for the rest of the year. Rats.

Don’t cross those Moats

In good news for the Steelers Arthur Moats is a good dude. This shouldn’t really come as news to anyone who has followed him since signing with the team as a free agent in 2014. He raises money and awareness for the Ronald McDonald House, provides scholarships to James Madison University and is working on his second master’s degree.

He was named Buffalo’s Walter Payton Man of the Year for 2013 before leaving the Bills and now he’s been named as the Steelers’ nominee for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award. The award is presented to a player for his outstanding sportsmanship on the field and respect for the game.
