Steelers News: Antonio Brown, Ryan Shazier, Martavis Bryant
By Kim Myers
The Steelers are licking their wounds after a thorough beating at the hands of the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship.
While the team recovers and wraps up the season that was we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Monday, Jan. 30th.
Get off my lawn
The PPG’s Ron Cook is good for at least a couple of old-guy rants a year and this time, not surprisingly, he takes aim at Antonio Brown. Unfortunately, with the way things were left with the Steelers prior to their departure into the offseason there will be endless rounds of the “Who’s fault is it?” game.

Cook suggests, in his grumpy old man ways, that the team should seriously consider trading Antonio Brown because signing him to a long-term contract would cost too much against the salary cap. And, also they can’t handle his ‘distractions’ anymore. Give me a break.
If a Facebook Live post is the worst trouble AB gets into and to make up for it, you get a player who can make the kind of plays that won the AFC North division away from the Ravens on Christmas Day then so be it. Grow up, Cook.
Live from Orlando
Ryan Shazier is living it up in Orlando for the Pro Bowl. Shazier was picked as an alternate but that doesn’t diminish his enthusiasm at all.

Bryant applies for reinstatement
Receiver Martavis Bryant officially applied to the NFL for reinstatement according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. Bryant was suspended for the entire 2016 season for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy and he’ll have to meet with Roger Goodell if he’s going to be let back in.
The league has 60 days to meet with Bryant so don’t expect anything until after the Super Bowl. If he returns to the team he’ll likely be welcomed back with open arms. As much promise that Sammie Coates showed at the end of last season he was disappointing this season.

Ben Roethlisberger and the Steeler offense certainly missed a field-stretcher like Bryant this year.
