What will Cam Sutton’s role be in 2017?
Cam Sutton has a chance to make an early impact in his rookie season. With the health implications, Golson will have in question, Sutton is in prime position to compete for the nickel corner role.
Sutton could also challenge for play on the outside, but his size suits him best in the slot. He played both in college at Tennessee where he racked up 127 tackles, seven interceptions and 30 passes defended in his four-year career.
Sutton has the man coverage strengths that Pittsburgh coveted heading into April’s draft. He has the ball skills and press ability to help them transform their defense into a more man-based defense over the next few seasons.
