Pittsburgh Steelers safety, Sean Davis, is facing a cyberbullying lawsuit, and his agent has released a statement regarding the matter.
It’s 2018 and social media has grown and destroyed the world of sports. Today’s players can connect with fans better than they ever could. But sometimes, these players don’t realize everyone is watching at all times.
That’s what happened to Pittsburgh Steelers safety, Sean Davis, who’s facing a cyberbullying lawsuit following a snapchat controversy. According to the family of a Chick-fil-A worker, Davis published a snapchat last Friday calling the teen worker an eight-year-old. When the teen returned to school the following week, he was hounded with bullies harassing him for the snap.
Now, Davis’ agent, MBK Sports Management, has released a statement on Davis and their behalf. According to the release, Davis is denying all allegations of cyberbullying and intent to inflect emotional distress on the teen.

Chances are this lawsuit doesn’t make it very far. Davis may have said some things he didn’t mean, but it’s a stretch to say it’s his fault this teen was harassed at school. Bullies suck, everyone knows, but Davis wasn’t making the video to be a jerk and that’s easy to see.
This won’t effect much of Davis’ or the Steelers’ offseason. They aren’t going to move the safety because of something like this. This will most likely be gone by the end of the spring and Davis will be past it.

If anything, this is a strong learning moment to all young players in the league that social media can make or break you. If you don’t watch what you post you could end up in serious trouble. These players aren’t college kids anymore. Now, everyone in the country has eyes on them at all times. It’s part of the job.
