The Steelers should definitely thank the Gators as they have provided the Steelers with a couple of Starters the past few years. The first name that comes to mind is Maurkice Pouncey. He has been a steady center for many years and and he is likely to be a Hall of Famer in the future. The other big name that is helping the current Steelers is Joe Haden. He has been their best cornerback the last two years despite being a long-time Cleveland Brown. Fred Johnson is also another player who is getting a shot in camp with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

There are also some former players that the Steelers liked at one point for the Florida Gators. The Steelers used Marcus Gilbert for many years at right tackle. He was a very good right tackle for the Steelers. There also was the Chris Rainey experiment. The Steelers took a scat back who could return kicks and punts in college. The downside is that Rainey never materialized into a punt returner or a change of pace backs.

The Florida Gators are an elite SEC program. They have historically been one of the elites of college football. They were one of the better teams in the SEC with a new coach in Dan Mullen who brought them a 10-3 record. Some players to watch this year from the Gators are CJ Henderson and Lamical Perine.
