Devin Bush got his first taste of NFL action last Friday night and he didn’t disappoint. Now, we’ll take a closer look at the debut of the Steelers’ rookie.

This is a new series here on the Still Curtain. After each Steelers’ game, we will take a look at a specific part of the game and break it down right here. And with the hype surrounding Devin Bush, I couldn’t think of a better place to start than looking at his impressive debut.

Bush finished the game with 10 total tackles, seven of which were solo tackles. He made a tackle right in the middle of the box on the very first play from scrimmage. Bush’s athleticism from the inside linebacker position was on full display Friday night, and that’s more of what I want to look at here.

We’re going to take a look at three different plays, all of which boast a different part of Bush’s skill set. Bush is a dynamic linebacker that can rack up the tackles. He made some plays that might have gone unnoticed because they either led to a sizable gain for Tampa Bay or the play got away from him.

One thing to consider in this game is that nine of eleven projected starters on defense did not dress for the game, so some of these plays he made might have a larger impact when he’s on the field with better talent surrounding him.
